So this is my first post to a new blog and I thought I would make it a straight forward and simple one.
In versions prior to CRM 2011/2013/2015 we have always been limited to creating email activities with the TO field set to one of the following:
Now we are offered the option to enable Sending email on an entity.
If the entity does not have an email field that exists on the entity, a new field will be created automatically for you once the entity is saved.
I would advise first creating your email field before selecting Sending email because as you can see CRM does not honour your publisher prefix on the newly created field. Be warned, that once you have selected this option and saved your entity there is no way to undo this action.
So once saved, you will now have the option to select your entity type in the Lookup Record view for the To fields on an Email.
You will also have access to the entity when created an email from workflow
As simple as that!
